Wherever I May Roam is a text-based story game set in a near-future town following political turmoil.
You have decide to accept a job as a cartographer for a mysterious governmental organization. They provided you and your coworkers with cabins to stay in and your job entails exploring the woods and making maps. You slowly start to realize that more is going on than meets the eye. As you begin, you will meet your coworkers, explore the woods, catch fish, watch birds, collect butterfly samples, and keep bees. As the story unravels, you will come to realize the relaxed and low stress job you found yourself in is a bit more convoluted than you originally though, and not everyone is as they seem.

Your journey will take you to interesting locations and allow you to meet a wide variety of characters.

Use your knowledge to locate swarms and keep bees.
Go fishing
There are a few minigames to further the plot. Go fishing to progress certain characters' story.
Watch birds
Each character features a different minigame, watch birds to learn about what happens in the woods.
